About Me

I am a mother of two teenagers and an elementary school teacher. I have been teaching for 10 years and am trying to try new technologies as they become available to me, or as I learn about them, that is one reason why I am in SDSU’s COMET program. I enjoy going to the beach, snowboarding, and fishing.

Experience With Podcasts, Wikis, and Blogs

  • I tried to do a book blog with Blogger, but that required too much signing in by my students for the comments to be readable by other classmates.
  • I have been creating Podcasts over the years, but just as Reader’s Theater. I never really knew how or where to upload them to make them available to my class. Everything seemed too complicated or expensive.
  • I also tried a wiki space with my students, however because my class this year required a lot of attention, I dropped the idea half-way through. I think I had two students actually contribute to the wiki. I found the wiki to be very helpful in compiling a potluck list for the staff. I also thought that if I used the wiki space for the potluck list, more teachers would become familiar with using it, and hopefully start using something like it in their class.

  • Wow, sounds like you’ve tried a lot of the technology we’re using in this class. Hope we can help you fine tune it a bit so you can have better success with them.

Sorry I can’t seem to find your name (and am too lazy to log into the SDSU system.) I’ll call you Ms. Burnworth for now.

Email me if you’d like to change it to something else. :)
